Fine art giclée printing is by far the highest quality approach to photo printing. It uses the latest and greatest printing technology, materials and inks, designed to achieve the best results in terms of colour, quality and longevity.

Our images are printed from the latest Epson SureColor P20070 Wide Format Inkjet Printer. This printer is highly regarded and one of the best and most efficient Inkjet printer in the commercial market.

In order to keep the printers, papers and monitors in line with international standards, the Barbieri Spectro LFPqb is used to ensure the best colour management. This is an incredible machine that accurately inspects our printing colours and helps us calibrate them to a near perfect accuracy.

Printer: Epson SureColor P20070
Inks: Epson UltraChrome Pro Inks
Colour Calibration: Barbieri Spectro LFP qb

We use the Ilford GALERIE Prestige Smooth Pearl 310gsm paper.

This paper is an industry standard professional photographic paper with a 90 year archival rating. It is a partial gloss and a lower direct reflection of light to the viewer, which makes for less glare, shine, and makes the image easier to see at all angles.

It is important to ensure that any handling does not cause damage to your artwork. We suggest to avoid touching the print directly as oils and dirt from your hands can damage the artwork and rough treatments can scratch and harm the pigments.

We recommend not hanging your item in direct sunlight. Each of our artworks has it’s own hanging method. Please read the instructions provided carefully. We also recommend using acid free tape if you are framing the print yourself to avoid yellowing the print.

HANDLING & MOVING
To preseve your frame, it is important to avoid any unnecessary handling or movement of framed prints. If you need to move the works, please ensure that two people do this, keep it upright and do not carry the works form the top or sides only. Avoid any twisting of the framed prints, as this can damage, the corners of the frame.

CLEANING

We do not recommend cleaning your art work routinely; only clean when required to remove any marks or fingerprints, and only clean the affected area.

White & black frames: clean with a damp cloth and where necessary, solvent can be used for tough marks.

Natural timber frames: we advise avoiding moisture and extreme deviations in temperature (e.g. hanging directly beneath AC or heating). Our Amichi Co timber is raw and unstained/lacquered. Any rough edges can be sanded if exposed.

Plexi-glass: only clean when required and only clean the affected area. First, gently dust the work with a soft feather duster or lint-free cloth. Then, use a soft lint-free cloth and a very small amount of water to dampen. Apply the cloth and then dry the area with another dry, soft lint-free cloth.

HEATING & COOLING
In warmer climates or if the framed works are placed above or near a heater or air-conditioning unit, condensation can occur inside the face of the acrylic front due to prolonged changes in temperature. If this does occur, it will not damage your print if it is framed with the print recessed, as the water does not touch the print and the condensation will evaporate.

FRAMING & HANGING

Yes, each print is available to purchase unframed. When selecting the product, click 'print only'.

Yes we do! If you would like to discuss custom framing, please get in touch with us here or by emailing hello@amichico.com.

We use a thick 2mm/3mm thick acrylic plexi-glass (thickness based on size of frame), which provides 94% UV resistance, is optical grade and extremely durable. Despite being more expensive than glass, we decided to frame with acrylic as it offers superior protection to the artwork and is less likely to damage.

Each frame is sourced from premium solid wood, and is handcrafted in Australia with the highest quality craftsmanship.

Each framed artwork comes ready to hang with a sturdy hanging system and wall buddies that make for easy hanging. This includes d-rings & string which provide a sturdy hanging system for every size of artwork. The string will be set up in the orientation of your artwork. We provide you with our hanging guide and can assist you every step of the way - click here to learn more.

For hanging heavy artwork, it's important to ensure both safety and stability. Here are some steps to follow:

  1. Choose the Right Location: Decide where you want to hang your artwork. It should be a spot where it won’t be subjected to direct sunlight or moisture. Make sure there's enough wall space for the artwork to have some "breathing" room.
  2. Find the Wall Studs: Heavy pieces should be hung on studs rather than just the drywall. You can use a stud finder to locate the studs in your wall.
  3. Select Proper Hardware: For heavy prints, it’s best to use sturdy hanging hardware like heavy-duty picture hooks, screws, and wall anchors that are appropriate for the weight of your artwork. The hardware package should specify how much weight it can support.
  4. Mark and Measure: Place the artwork against the wall and mark the top center of the frame on the wall with a pencil. Measure the distance from the top of the frame to the hanging mechanism (wire, D-rings, etc.). Then, from the mark on the wall, measure down to where the hardware should go to support your frame and make another mark.
  5. Install the Hardware: Drill holes if you're using screws and wall anchors, or hammer in the hooks directly into the studs. Ensure everything is level and securely fastened.
  6. Hang the Artwork: With the hardware installed, you can now hang your artwork. It might be helpful to have someone assist you to position the artwork safely and ensure it's level.
  7. Double Check: Once the artwork is up, take a step back and check if it's perfectly horizontal and stable. Adjust if necessary.

By following these steps, you can confidently display your heavy fine art photography prints from Amichi Co, adding a touch of elegance and professionalism to any space.

Yes, you can hang artwork without damaging the walls by using alternative hanging methods that do not require nails or drilling. Here are some options:

  1. Adhesive Hooks and Strips: These are available from various brands and are excellent for hanging lighter prints without making holes. Make sure to choose strips or hooks that can support the weight of your artwork, and follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully to avoid any damage to the paint or wall.
  2. Hanging Rails: Installing a picture rail along the top of your walls allows you to hang artwork from hooks and wires that can be moved and adjusted without touching the wall itself. This is ideal for those who like to change their art displays frequently.
  3. Tension Rods: Similar to those used for curtains, tension rods can be placed between two walls and used to hang art with wires or strings. This method is particularly useful in alcoves or between furniture pieces.
  4. Freestanding Display Easels: A large, decorative easel can be an elegant way to display artwork without any wall contact. This is a great choice for very heavy or unusually sized artworks.
  5. Command Strips: For lighter and medium-sized prints, command strips can securely hold your artwork in place and can easily be removed without leaving marks or residue.

Using these methods, you can display your fine art prints from Amichi Co beautifully and securely, without causing any permanent damage to your walls.

Hanging heavy artwork on uneven, crumbly, or plasterboard walls requires special consideration to ensure that the art is both secure and does not cause damage to the wall. Here’s how you can safely hang heavy pieces on these types of walls:

  1. Assess the Wall: Determine the type of wall you have and its condition. Plaster and older walls might be more fragile and uneven, while plasterboard (drywall) is not very supportive of heavy weights on its own.
  2. Use Appropriate Anchors: For plasterboard or drywall, use heavy-duty anchors that are designed to spread the load across a wider area behind the wall. Toggle bolts, also known as butterfly anchors, are ideal because they open behind the wall and provide strong support.
  3. Reinforcement for Plaster Walls: For older plaster walls that are uneven or crumbly, you may need to reinforce the area where you plan to hang the artwork. This can be done by securing a thin piece of wood to the wall studs, providing a firm mounting point for your hanging hardware.
  4. Locate Studs: If possible, locate the studs in your wall using a stud finder. Hanging heavy items directly into studs is the most secure method, especially in plasterboard walls.
  5. Use a Rail System: Consider installing a rail system at the ceiling level. This method allows you to hang artwork from the rail with cables or hooks, minimizing wall damage and providing flexibility in positioning.
  6. Professional Advice: If you are unsure about the wall’s ability to support heavy artwork, consult with a professional. They can recommend the best hardware and techniques for your specific situation.

By taking these steps, you can ensure that your heavy Amichi Co fine art prints are displayed safely and securely, even on challenging wall surfaces.

The cost of having artwork professionally hung or installed can vary depending on several factors, such as the size and weight of the artwork, the complexity of the installation, and your geographic location. Here are some general guidelines to help you estimate the costs:

  1. Basic Hanging Services: For simple jobs where the artwork simply needs to be securely hung on a wall, professional hanging services can range from approximately $50 to $150 per hour. Many services charge a minimum fee, which often covers the first hour of work.
  2. Complex Installations: If the installation requires special hardware, security mounts, or involves an unusually heavy or oversized piece, costs can increase. These jobs may require two or more professionals, and fees could range from $200 to $500 or more, depending on the complexity and duration of the job.
  3. Additional Factors: The type of wall (plaster, drywall, brick, etc.), the need for ladder or scaffolding due to high ceilings, and travel time to your location can also affect the cost. Some professionals may also charge a consultation fee if the job requires a pre-visit to assess the artwork and installation site.
  4. Geographic Variation: Prices can vary significantly by region. Urban areas tend to have higher rates than rural areas due to higher business overheads and living costs.
  5. Quotes and Estimates: It’s a good idea to get several quotes from different providers to compare prices. Most professional installers will offer a free or low-cost estimate based on your specific needs.

We recommend contacting local art installation professionals or handyman services to obtain a precise quote for your Amichi Co fine art prints. Ensure they have experience with art installations, and check their reviews to confirm the quality of their service.

The time required to professionally hang an artwork on the wall can vary based on several factors. Here are the main considerations that could affect the duration:

  1. Size and Weight of the Artwork: Larger or heavier pieces generally require more time to ensure they are securely and properly installed. This might involve additional measurements, stronger supports, and careful handling.
  2. Type of Wall: Different wall materials (such as drywall, plaster, or brick) might require specific tools and hardware, influencing the time needed for installation.
  3. Complexity of Installation: Simple installations where the artwork hangs directly on hooks or nails can be completed relatively quickly, often within an hour. More complex installations, such as those requiring security mounts, integrated lighting, or alignment of multiple pieces in a gallery wall, can take several hours.
  4. Preparation Time: If the installation site requires any preparation, such as wall repairs or painting, this will add to the total time before the artwork can be hung.
  5. Professional Experience: Experienced installers can generally complete the work more quickly and efficiently, though they will still take the necessary time to ensure the artwork is hung safely and correctly.

On average, for a straightforward job involving one or two pieces of artwork, you can expect the installation to take between 30 minutes to 2 hours. For more involved projects or gallery walls, it could take half a day or more.

If timing is a concern, it's a good idea to discuss this with the installation professional beforehand. They can provide a more accurate estimate based on the specifics of your artwork and installation needs. This way, you can plan accordingly and ensure a smooth installation process for your Amichi Co fine art prints.

Here are some helpful steps:

1. Place your acrylic sheet on a flat, smooth surface that will not scratch the acrylic (a soft towel on a kitchen table etc).

2. Start peeling from any corner and pull the coating away from the acrylic.

3. Flip the acrylic over and peel the protective coating off the other side.

4. Using a soft micro fibre cloth wipe over both sides of the acrylic to remove any dust or fluff before inserting it into your frame.
