Sally and Maddie Kiel are the dynamic duo behind the mother-daughter business venture in fine art photography prints and art services, Amichi Co. They make buying and styling art easy with their unique approach that combines Sally’s artistic background in photography with Maddie’s business and design acumen.
They are passionate about their work, and they love nothing more than helping others discover the beauty of fine art photography.
The beginning of Amichi Co
When Sally, the mother of the mother-daughter duo, first picked up a camera, she had no idea that it would lead her down a new career path. A hobbyist photographer for several decades, she only began to think about turning her photography into fine art prints when her daughter, Maddie showed an interest in photography and interior styling herself.
Since then, the mother and daughter have been inseparable, both behind the lens and in front of it.
Together, they've built Amichi Co - showcasing their own collections of gallery-quality fine art prints, while seeking to solve the issues people face when buying and styling art for their home, with art and design services to support their customers at every step to find the perfect print.

THE STORY BEHIND AMICHI CO
The idea was born in the midst of yet another COVID lockdown - where the four walls of our home had become our everyday world. In the pursuit to turn my home into a sanctuary, I found myself spending hours searching the internet for artwork to hang on my walls.
Don’t get me wrong, you can find artwork anywhere - that wasn’t the problem. The art that piqued my interest was too expensive, or the affordable options were uninspiring and mass-produced. Even when I found something I thought I might like, I just wasn’t confident it would suit the style of my home, or that I could select the right size in relation to my other furniture.
Stuck again in this frustrating and never-ending cycle of hours of internet searching, just to throw it in the 'too hard basket', mum said to me: “Well, you could print my photography to put on your walls?”
I’ve obsessed over mum’s photography for years - some from travels I’ve been with her on, others her own adventures. My childhood memories are with mum always a camera in hand. I’ve seen the thought that goes into each shot, and the story each one tells. They're the type of prints I want on my walls.
What started as a passion project between mum and daughter, quickly evolved into realising that there are so many people like us who have the same problems when looking to buy art online.
And so, Amichi Co was born.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but to us, an Amichi Co print represents so much more.
There’s something about seeing a beautiful moment captured by a photograph that arouses memories and good times with loved ones. It is a powerful phenomenon that brings joy and nostalgia into our hearts and lives.
To achieve this, each one of our prints are authentically captured – no poses, no camera tricks, no models – simply a real moment in time captured to be enjoyed for eternity.
Travelling to wonderful locations both locally and overseas has inspired a passion to capture these moments and share the people and cultures of the world. I do this while quietly observing life and the world around me.
I am driven by my inquisitive nature and for me, photography is based on instinct and spontaneity.
